There is a common myth that reborns are only owned by women coping with child loss or who can't have children, who are "crazy" and waste real diapers and formula on their dolls. Reborns are actually often advised against as a coping mechanism for grief due the possibility of stunting the grieving process. Instead, the community is widely composed of an overlap between artists, people who love art dolls, and people who love babies. In fact, many reborn owners are already mothers. They are more commonly used as a comfort item by disabled people than as a replacement for a lost child.
Reborns have always been apart of my art doll journey, and I have adored them since I was a teenager. I dreamed and dreamed of owning one, until when I was 18 I was finally able to afford my first one. Below is a display of all the reborn dolls currently in my collection, and information about each one!
